THE POSITION
We’re seeking a Mechanical/Electrical Engineer to lead the design and continuous improvement of our camper structures, systems, and components. This is a hands-on role that combines mechanical design, CAD modeling, and cross-functional collaboration to bring high-quality, functional, and efficient products to life.
You’ll work closely with leadership, production, and vendors to refine existing models and develop new features that enhance durability, manufacturability, and user experience.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Design & Development
- Create and maintain detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for components, assemblies, and systems using SolidWorks.
- Develop and document mechanical assemblies, hardware specifications, and fabrication details for production.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure manufacturability and efficient assembly processes.
- Lead design revisions and implement continuous improvements based on customer feedback and production insights.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) and prototype builds, from concept through final production release.
- Research and integrate new materials, components, and methods to improve strength, weight, and cost efficiency.
Product & Process Support
- Create and maintain up-to-date technical drawings, BOMs, and revision control documentation.
- Ensure product designs meet safety, durability, and performance standards.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant safety standards (e.g., RVIA, NEC, UL) and industry regulations.
- Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and bill of materials (BOMs).
- Perform electrical load calculations, power consumption analysis, and thermal management design.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors on part tolerances, fabrication methods, and sourcing alternatives.
- Support troubleshooting and problem-solving during assembly and testing.
Other duties as assigned.
THE CANDIDATE
Technical & Strategic Skills:
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical design or product engineering.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Proven experience with 12V DC and 120V AC systems and power electronics.
- Integration of smart features, connectivity, and IoT solutions (e.g., remote monitoring, app control).
- Experience in sheet metal design, woodworking, or composite materials.
- Demonstrated success bringing mechanical products from concept to production.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, welding, or cabinetry is a plus.
- Experience in RV, automotive, marine, or outdoor product industries preferred.
- Strong project management, documentation, and communication skills.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; crouch; use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, or carry; reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Regularly required to talk or hear; read and identify numbers
- Regularly required to apply sound reasoning and logic performing daily tasks.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance or stoop; kneel, and crawl.
- Regularly required to work in production warehouse around shop equipment with varying temperatures and exposure to noise.
- On-Site work schedule, business located in Winlock, Washington
Schedule/Hours:
- Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with some flexibility, occasional weekend work may be necessary
- Full-time
Compensation and Pay Status:
- Base salary in the range of $70,000 - $80,000 per year, DOE
- Health Insurance Reimbursement for Employees
- PTO - 8 days per year
